The Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade was created to support the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department, one of our community’s most important assets. It is one of the most recognized parks departments in the United States of America. Here are just a few facts and statistics that should make every citizen of Miami-Dade County proud:
  • 255 parks comprising more than 12,000 acres
  • 5 beaches, 6 marinas, and 6 golf courses
  • 5,447 acres of natural areas that include wetlands, subtropical forests - such as pine
    rocklands - with unique wildlife
