Current Projects:
The monies entrusted to the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade are allocated to worthwhile and
important projects that benefit the community and its citizens. Current projects supported by the Foundation include:
Matheson Hammock Park - A special fund has been established to support activities and special areas at Matheson Hammock Park.
Fit to Play Summer Camp Scholarships -The Foundation has established a
fund to help offset the costs of attending Park and Recreation summer camps and after school programs throughout Miami-Dade for at-risk youth.
Special Events -Five major special events: Ribfest, Fourth of July Celebration, the Blue Water Fishing Classic, the Greynolds Park Love-In and In the Company of Women, provide high visibility and ample opportunity for corporate sponsorships.
Planned Projects:
The Board of Directors of the Foundation has a strong vision for the future. Some of the planned projects that the Foundation is working to initiate include:
Nature Trail Signage - As part of the Eco-Adventure program, create and install educational signage on the walking trails to inform hikers about their surroundings, and the flora and fauna that they observe as a part of our unique and precious eco-system.
Dedicated Funding Alternatives - Investigate and identify alternative dedicated funding solutions to provide additional support to the annual operating budget for programs and initiatives.
